What are implants and prosthetics?

Implants and prosthetics are an alternative treatment for teeth that were previously replaced with crowns. They are used in cases where teeth have been fractured, weakened, or have large fillings with reduced strength. Their placement is less invasive compared to traditional crowns, as they require less tooth preparation. They are made of either porcelain or resin (the material of the filling), and the process involves three appointments. Initially, under local anesthesia, the tooth is shaped and necessary space is created. Then, dental impressions are taken, a temporary prosthesis is placed, and during the next appointment, the trial and final placement are done. The material options include either resin (for fillings) or porcelain.
